On 5 December 2024 the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development (VARAM) is organizing an event “Support forum for SMEs: Corporate sustainability requirements and experience stories towards sustainability reporting”.

VARAM invites representatives of SMEs to participate in a forum where the following topics will be discussed:

  • Corporate sustainability reporting directive (CSRD) and how these requirements apply to SMEs by Agnese Alksne-Bensone, Chairman of the CSR Latvia;
  • Double materiality assessment (DMA) and why it is also relevant for SMEs by Maija Āboliņa-Tomsone, founder of Ziemeļmeita Consulting;
  • ESG Tool by Vita Vitola-Lapiņa project expert of Latvian Information and communications technology association (LIKTA), will introduce the ESG Tool project and how it can provide practical assistance to take the first steps towards sustainability reporting.

Within the framework of the forum, three companies will share their experience and tell how the sustainability path has affected the activities of their companies, what resources are needed for it, what sustainability means for the company, what are the obstacles and good practice stories.

The discussion will be moderated by: Agnese Alksne-Bensone, Chairman of the CSR Latvia.

Participants in the discussion will be:

  • Anete Smoča, Eco Baltia vide Sustainability manager;
  • Gita Tillere, Latvia State Radio and Television Centre (LVRTC) Sustainability and quality manager;
  • Kristīne Grapmane, Executive director of STENDERS.
