Article 4 part 6 of the Electronic Communication Law determines that the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development develops regulations on the National Numbering plan and the use of radiofrequencies spectrum, as well as procedures for public radiofrequencies assignment and submit them to the Cabinet of Ministers.

116 000 - Hotline for missing children

European Parliament and Council Directive 2009/136/EC of 25 November 2009, amending Directive 2002/22/EC on universal service and users' rights relating to electronic communications networks and services, in particular its Article 27 explains the need of introduction of the helpline  number "116000" in order to provide social informative support in the cases of missing children.

You are invited to applay for the help desk provider to provide telephone helpline’s number „116000” operation and provide an informative support to the families of missing children.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and other relevant State authorities have taken all the necessary measures in order to start the operration of the phone helpline number for missing children. It is planned that the telephone number line „116000” operators will receive calls reporting missing children and to forward this information to the State Police, as well as will provide support and advice for persons who will be in charge of the investigation.

We inform that the European Commission established a website in order to provide the current information for population, emergency services and other interested bodies about a single information contactpoint of "116" six-digit numbers. The telephone number „116000” is active in the several European Union Member states.
